Beth Biglin - woodwinds - earned a Bachelors degree in music education with a concentration in clarinet.  While studying at Ithaca College, she taught woodwind lessons at the Salvation Army Music Conservatory.  She student taught at Boynton Middle School in Ithaca, NY and Stuyvesant High School in New York City.  Her former students have had opportunities to play at church, in various ensembles and at music camps and festivals.  Her students have also earned the highest ranks in the New York School Music Association's annual festival and the Salvation Army Eastern Division Star Search competitions.  Beth is an active performer and enjoys performing at church, school and throughout the community.  Recently, she delivered a lecture recital titled "The Hungarian Folk Tradition," at Heath Village in Hackettstown, NJ. In addition to solo performance, Beth enjoys performing in ensembles and has had the opportunity to play with the All Eastern, New Jersey All State and All Central Jersey bands.  She has also played the flute, bassoon, saxophone, tuba, baritone and French horn in a variety of ensembles at Ithaca College.  She is excited to teach woodwinds at the Triangle Music School.

Liz Frazer - voice - is a doctoral candidate in Vocal Performance at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and has been teaching individual voice lessons and voice classes in classical and musical theater styles at the university level for over seven years.   As a faculty member of Emory & Henry College in Virginia she started and directed an Opera Scenes Workshop that she has continued at the University of Virginia’s College at Wise.  She also initiated and directed a volunteer summer opera scenes program for graduate students at UNCG.  A member of The National Association of Teachers of Singing, she has had multiple students place at the state and regional levels in both the classical and musical theater styles.  She loves teaching all levels and all styles of singing—all that is required is a desire to make music!  As a performer, Ms Frazer loves singing in the classical and musical theater styles.   She is an active recitalist, soloist and stage director in the southeast and Classical Voice of North Carolina paid tribute to her talent in their review stating that she sings  “with great power and emotional depth…easily soaring over the orchestra.”  Recently she performed as a soloist with the Greensboro Philharmonia, the lead role in A Good Man is Hard to Find, a new opera by David Volk, and last year performed leading roles in UNCG Opera Theater’s productions of Mozart’s The Impresario as well as in Debussy’s sacred cantata, L’enfant prodigue. She received her B.A. at Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago where she performed the title role in Tchaikovsky’s Iolanthe, Abigail Williams in The Crucible by Robert Ward, and Susanna in Tomas Breton’s La Verbena de la Paloma. Ms. Frazer received her M.M. in Vocal Performance at East Carolina University where she performed the role of Blanche de la Force in Poulenc’s Dialogues of the Carmelites, reprised her role as Abigail in The Crucible, and performed the role of Elisa in Mozart’s early opera, Il re pastore.

Tatiana Gutnik - piano, theory, composition -  is an experienced musician and teacher. In addition to piano, she teaches music theory and composition and is an expert researcher in music performance. Tatiana holds a Diploma with Honors and a DMA degree from the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory (1998). Her studies in performance included violin, piano, organ, conducting, and Gregorian chant. She has collaborated with Theremin Center for Electro-Acoustic Music, Moscow School of Piano Master, Moscow Classical Gymnasium. Tatiana is a founding member and Artistic Director of the Fortepiano Networks.

Jennifer Hancock - Suzuki piano, MusikgartenTM, Director, Nationally Certified Teacher of Music - began studying piano and percussion during grade school in Columbus, Ohio. After Capital University granted scholarships to her for both talents, she continued study in music business, classical & jazz piano, and specialized in mallet & ethnic percussion.  During a semester internship studying ethnic percussion at the Jamaican School of Dance (Kingston, Jamaica), she taught dancers a notational system to assist them with documenting and recalling traditional dance rhythms. After earning her Bachelor’s of Music degree in 1993 from Capital, Jennifer moved to Chapel Hill, NC and worked as an arts administrator for four years. She established her Suzuki piano teaching studio in 1997, and has since completed coursework in Suzuki Piano pedagogy, books one through six. Jennifer is recognized by the Music Teachers National Association as a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music. She also holds Level 2 certification from the Early Childhood Music & Movement Association, and is a licensed Musikgarten educator for children from age birth to 5 years.  She maintains a teaching studio in her home near Mebane NC, and is director of the Triangle Music School in Durham, NC. In addition to her private teaching, Jennifer works as a Suzuki workshop clinician around the United States and is a consultant for FJH Music Company. She serves as pianist and Music & Arts Committee chair for the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Hillsborough.

John Heitzenrater - guitar, bass, piano, voice, sarod, tabla, bassoon -  is a multi-instrumentalist whose performance career spans more than two decades and many genres. The instruments on which he is currently featured are sarod, tabla, bassoon, guitars, and bass, but he has also appeared performing on ghatam, keyboards, and voice. On sarod, Mr. Heitzenrater is a product of the celebrated Maihar-Allaudin Gharana, which traces its lineage to Mian Tansen, court musician of Akbar the Great and the principle progenitor of modern Hindustani classical music. He studied sarod with Pandit Rajeev Taranath, distinguished disciple of Maestro Ali Akbar Khan and one of the world’s leading exponents of the sarod, and studied table with Lucknow Gharana Maestro Swapan Chaudhuri. He is also versed in the folk music traditions of Macedonia and Bulgaria, in Western classical music, and in various American popular traditions including rock, jazz, and bluegrass. In his diverse performance career, he has shared the stage with an array of talented musicians from around the glove. Recent performances include an appearance at the Dalai Lamas World Festival of Sacred Music with master South Indian drummer Poovalur Srinivasan, at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles with chitravina virtuoso N. Ravikiran and master drummers Glen Velez and John Bergamo, and at the Knitting Factory in Hollywood with his cross-cultural acoustic ensemble, Hindugrass. Mr. Heizenrater earned his Master of Fine Arts degree in Composition and Performance (on sarod, guitar, and bassoon) and his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Multi-Focus Guitar performance from California Institute of the Arts. He was awarded the Music Teachers National Association Student Achievement Recognition award for his work teaching at CalArts and for his pioneering work with the Santa Clarita Valley Community Arts Partnership. In addition to his performance career, John is currently teaching bassoon and music history at North Carolina Central University, managing a large studio of private students, and recently finished scoring the short film A Soaring Life by Lucas Ridley and the feature film 20 Years After, the latter with Christ Johnson.

Yolana Murrell - Suzuki violin, viola - is a graduate of UNC, has taught both traditional and Suzuki violin and viola in Chapel Hill, NC since 1993. She has played with the Durham Symphony, the Chapel Hill Philharmonia and currently The Pittsboro Bach Society. She is also an active chamber musician. Her teachers have included Mary Frances Boyce, Edith Gettes and Eric Pritchard. Her goal as a teacher has been to get students to produce the best sound possible with as healthy a technique as possible.

Janice Philbrick - Suzuki piano -  loves teaching piano lessons to students of all ages. As a teacher of traditional piano lessons, Janice was first introduced to the Suzuki method as a Suzuki parent. Three of her children were studying music with Suzuki teachers. Inspired by what she observed, she received training in Suzuki piano at many summer issues across the country, and these courses are registered with the Suzuki Association of the Americas.

Iva Veazey - piano , Performance Wellness - Iva studied music at both Western Carolina University and Grand Canyon University as a piano major. She has been a piano teacher for over 25 years, using a gentle, personalized and fun approach to learning and experiencing music.As a member of the Music Teachers Association for over 17 years, on the national level as well as the local Phoenix MTA and Durham MTA, she has served on several committees. This includes chairing PMTA's Music at the Mall scholarship fund raiser and co chairing the Az Study Program ( a 12 year graded music theory and performance adjudication).Iva is also a composer. Her compositions and improv pieces have been performed at art gallery openings and special events for health and wellness businesses. Her studies in Manhattan with Dr. Louise Montello qualify her as a Performance Wellness Coach, assisting students of all ages in overcoming stage fright and finding a richer creative stance in practice, performance and daily life through healthy mind/body awareness and fitness. She is also a certified Transformation Meditation Instructor.Iva currently splits her time between Durham and Sylva, NC. In Sylva she works as a Performance Wellness Coach and meditation instructor at Fusions Day Spa and also maintain a private piano studio for adult students.
