Our 2023-2024 School Calendar is now available!
Individual Lessons are currently available for the following: bass, bassoon, clarinet, cello, guitar, mandolin, marimba, piano, saxophone, ukulele, viola, violin, and voice. Typically, students enrolled in individual lessons through Triangle Music School meet with their teachers weekly. We strongly support meeting with an instructor prior to enrolling. Tuition is based on $75 per hour of instruction and is paid in monthly installments. Our calendar is divided into four quarters. Fall, Winter, and Spring sessions include ten individual lessons, one performance class, one recital, and one makeup lesson. In addition to the time your teacher spends directly with each student in the lesson, your tuition also pays for lesson planning, learning, and organizing the best possible ways to educate each student. Individual lessons per month, thirty instructional weeks from September through May* 30 min: $125 ~ 45 min: $187.50.50~ 60 min: $250 • Quarterly Recital fee charged per student, $5/session to help with space rental & accompanist. *first month tuition may be prorated if started after the first week of the quarter. Summer lessons (June through August): Summer lessons are billed at the individual lesson rate and paid monthly. A minimum of 8 summer lessons are required to maintain a full-time weekly lesson time in the upcoming Fall session. Individual lesson rates are listed below: 30 min: $37.50 ~ 45 min: $56.25 ~ 60 min: $75 Discounts: for students enrolled in ongoing weekly classes 5% off each additional family member enrolled 5% off lessons that conclude by 3:30 pm weekdays Free 30 minute lesson for each referral who enrolls Payment is monthly via autopay. Any payment not received by the 10th of the month will be charged a $20 late fee. A $20 fee will be charged to your account if your checks are returned from the bank for any reason. Credits are only issued if your teacher must miss a lesson and cannot reschedule, and must be approved by the director in advance of the absence. There will be no refunds for advance payments if a student stops lessons before the end of a session or month, except in the case of major illness or major family emergency. Each student enrolled in individual lessons will receive one free make up lesson at the end of each session. These lessons are used first to offset any teacher absences including inclement weather, and then for any student absences that may occur. Group lessons and recitals cannot be made up, and no credits or additional lessons are issued should a student be unable to attend.Other makeup lessons must be approved by the school’s director. Students who give less than 24 hours notice of cancellation may still be charged for that lesson. Unused make up credits expire at the beginning of each new academic year. Missed make up lessons are not rescheduled unless teacher is unavailable. Your teacher may choose to have one performance class per session. These are informal performance opportunities in a group setting to discover music history and theory. Teachers may also choose, at their discretion, to organize a performance or recital for their students in addition or instead of school-organized events. We encourage committing to lessons through a calendar year, and understand there are normal ebbs and flows when learning any skill. Should a student wish to pause or stop lessons, the following policies apply: Formal written notification in the form of an email must be given to the office (jenn@trianglemusicschool.com) and the instructor. Notifying only the instructor, non-attendance, and non-payment are not considered withdrawals. Registration, recital, and materials fees are non-refundable. For new students who have taken no more than four lessons: refund for all scheduled classes or lessons after the date of withdrawal. Payment plans will be adjusted to reflect only the classes scheduled up to the withdrawal date. In the event that a student has not yet paid their tuition, payment will still be due for all lessons up to the withdrawal date (attended or non-attended). Withdrawal after the 4th scheduled lesson: a minimum of thirty days notice via email to office (jenn@trianglemusicschool.com) is required to turn off auto pay. No refunds for advance payments except in the case of medical emergency. Students may continue lessons to cover what has already been paid, or balance held as a credit towards future lessons for a return to instruction at TMS or for another family member. In the event that a student has not yet paid their tuition, full payment will still be due until notice of withdrawal is received. Should the school need to cancel classes or lessons, full refunds will be given. These may take up to thirty days to process. Children must be attended by an adult (their parent or caregiver) at all times.
